From now until October 18, at 18 clinics in 8 provinces and cities across the country, Vinmec will simultaneously organize a program to screen and detect some types of cancer early for about 15,000 people.

The program is organized by the Cancer Patient Support - Bright Tomorrow Fund, K Hospital, Thien Tam Fund and Vinmec Healthcare System (Vingroup) in collaboration with hospitals to raise public awareness about cancer prevention and detection; creating a habit of active regular screening to detect cancer early.
It is expected that about 15,000 people in 8 provinces and cities: Hanoi, Hai Phong, Quang Ninh, Phu Tho, Quang Nam, Da Nang, Ho Chi Minh City and Can Tho will be screened for free for 3 most common cancers in Vietnam: breast cancer, cervical cancer and colorectal cancer.
In particular, through screening, cases detected with cancer will be supported by Thien Tam Fund (Vingroup) up to 70-100% treatment cost at Vinmec International General Hospitals nationwide.

According to statistics, each year the country has about 126,000 new cancer cases, including about 12,500 cases of breast cancer; 5,700 cases of cervical cancer and about 13,500 cases of colorectal cancer. Late detection is one of the leading causes of death for cancer patients.
Therefore, with the message "Cancer - screen now, treat within reach", the program has brought the opportunity for early screening, timely detection of cancer risks to optimize treatment effectiveness, and improve the quality of life for the community.
Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Thi Xuyen, former Deputy Minister of Health, President of the Cancer Patient Support - Bright Tomorrow Fund emphasized: "Cancer is a major burden on public health. This program is a meaningful activity to bring people the opportunity to be examined and treated in the best conditions, while contributing to raising awareness in society about cancer prevention".

The screening and early detection program for some cancers is a concrete step in the cooperation agreement previously signed between Thien Tam Fund, Bright Tomorrow Fund, K Hospital and Vinmec International General Hospital.
Accordingly, the parties will effectively utilize the potential of facilities, human resources and expertise to help poor cancer patients access the most advanced treatment technology and promote cancer prevention to the community.
"We believe that with this companionship, more patients will be treated, contributing to bringing a better life to people across Vietnam" - Mr. Le Khac Hiep, Vice President of Vingroup Corporation shared at the program launching ceremony held on the morning of September 9, 2017 at Vinmec Times City International General Hospital.
