To demonstrate the spirit of mutual support, gratitude to those who have contributed to the country, and to share with the poor who lack access to medical care, Thiện Tâm Fund and Vinmec International General Hospital (VinGroup) have decided to launch a large-scale charity care program.

From January to June 2012, Thiện Tâm Fund will sponsor 50 billion VND to provide free medical examinations and treatments for children and the elderly who are poor, families in particularly difficult circumstances nationwide, families of martyrs, war invalids, veterans, former youth volunteers, and those who have contributed to the revolution at Vinmec International General Hospital.

In recent times, Thiện Tâm Fund and VinGroup have engaged in numerous charitable activities across the country.

The leadership of Thiện Tâm Fund announced that the charity medical program includes two main activities. Firstly, general health checkups and free health screenings will be organized for students at several primary schools in inner Hanoi, focusing on general health and paying special attention to symptoms related to dental health, refractive eye errors, scoliosis, and ear-nose-throat issues. Additionally, the program will conduct health examinations and tests, including hematology, biochemistry, and imaging diagnostics for the elderly to check overall health and screen for common diseases in older adults such as lipid disorders, diabetes, and gout. The free health checkup activities will start from mid-January 2012 and continue until the end of March 2012, conducted in phases.

The second group of activities is the free surgery program, which includes: pediatric heart surgery, adult heart surgery, smile surgery (cleft lip and palate), eye surgery (cataract replacement) for the elderly, orthopedic surgery (limb lengthening, muscle contracture, clubfoot, joint replacement, spine surgery), simple goiter surgery, and several other packages. This activity is divided into two phases. The screening phase starts from mid-January 2012 to the end of March 2012. The surgery phase is conducted from April to the end of June 2012. All health checkups, examinations, and surgeries will be performed directly at Vinmec International General Hospital (Minh Khai – Hanoi) by skilled doctors. Patients will receive examination, treatment, and nursing care according to Vinmec's international 5-star standards. To implement the program transparently and ensure it meets its objectives and targets, Thiện Tâm Fund will collaborate with news agencies and several charitable social organizations to jointly carry out the program. Additionally, the Foundation will publicly disclose all information about the program through mass media.

Sharing about the program, Mr. Bùi Đình Dĩnh, Chairman of Thiện Tâm Fund, said: "Following the directives of the Vingroup leadership, Thiện Tâm Fund, in collaboration with Vinmec International General Hospital, is implementing a free medical examination and treatment program for the poor and policy families. This initiative aims to demonstrate the community responsibility, gratitude, and sharing spirit of Vingroup with those who have contributed to the country and the poor who lack access to medical care.

Additionally, this is a practical activity to support the peak month for the poor and the "Great Solidarity" campaign launched by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front.

Our choice of Vinmec International General Hospital to carry out the medical examination and treatment tasks is partly because it is a high-end medical brand of Vingroup, but more importantly, it is an internationally ranked hospital with top-notch equipment and a team of skilled domestic and international doctors and specialists. Therefore, it will undoubtedly fulfill this task well. Moreover, choosing Vinmec also aims to help the program's beneficiaries, including those who have contributed to the revolution, the poor, and children from disadvantaged families, to experience high-quality medical services at least once.

This is the first time Thiện Tâm Fund has implemented this program, so we hope to receive support and assistance from all levels of government, humanitarian organizations, and the press in identifying, verifying, and introducing deserving beneficiaries and supervising the program's activities. Based on the effectiveness of this time, we will draw experience and continue to implement subsequent programs."

Mr. Nguyễn Việt Quang, representing Vinmec International General Hospital, affirmed: "This will be a meaningful activity for the hospital as it officially begins operations from early January 2012.

With the 50 billion VND sponsorship from Thiện Tâm Fund, we will have the conditions to carry out humanitarian medical activities.

With the hospital's facilities invested in accordance with international 5-star standards, and a team of skilled, experienced, and ethical doctors, we commit that the policy beneficiaries selected for medical examination and treatment under this program will receive special medical care without any discrimination.

All these efforts aim to affirm that Vinmec is not only a high-quality, internationally 5-star standard medical service system, leading in Vietnam but also always conscious of community orientation and responsible for contributing to the implementation of social security policies that the state is promoting."
