GE Healthcare and Vinmec sign comprehensive cooperation agreement

GE Healthcare – the US healthcare group and Vinmec Healthcare System have just officially signed a comprehensive strategic cooperation agreement, aiming to promote the application of science and technology, optimize infrastructure, and improve the quality of human resources according to international standards for Vinmec.

According to the agreement, GE Healthcare and Vinmec will coordinate comprehensively in all activities, with key areas such as: medical technology; training and development of medical human resources; hospital design and clinical research cooperation programs. 
Specifically, in the field of technology, GE Healthcare will continue to provide Vinmec with modern medical equipment in the world for diagnostic imaging, nuclear medicine, ultrasound, anesthesia machines, ventilators, etc. to help Vinmec optimize the quality of medical examination and treatment. 
In training and human resource development activities, the two sides will focus on cardiology and oncology, creating a solid foundation for Vinmec to make strong breakthroughs in key areas. The highlight of the training cooperation agreement is that GE Healthcare will participate in training doctors at Vinmec University of Health Sciences (VUHS), making VUHS a standard model for medical education in Vietnam.

In particular, through a team of experienced experts in hospital design and construction from Dubai and the US - GE Healthcare will support the most specialized and advanced solutions to help Vinmec divide and arrange facilities in the hospital... Accordingly, hospitals in the Vinmec system will optimize their operations, ensuring maximum safety and comfort in accordance with international standards. Vinmec University of Health Sciences Hospital, expected to be put into operation in 2019, will be the first project in which GE Healthcare will cooperate with Vinmec to review the subdivisions and overall design.

Thus, through comprehensive strategic cooperation with a world-class healthcare corporation, GE Healthcare- Vinmec is striving to improve key factors ensuring the quality of medical examination and treatment: technology, medical staff and operating procedures. This is a breakthrough and comprehensive step by Vinmec to achieve international standards in the field of healthcare in Vietnam.

To maintain this achievement, Vinmec will continue to invest heavily in human resource training, standardization and synchronization of infrastructure. Signing a comprehensive cooperation agreement with an international partner such as GE Healthcare is one of the strategic steps for Vinmec to realize this goal". 
Vinmec Healthcare System is an academic healthcare system established in 2012 invested by the Group. The system consists of 3 components according to the standard model of the world healthcare system: hospital chain - Research Institutes - Vinmec University of Health Sciences. Currently, Vinmec has 6 general hospitals in operation, of which 2 hospitals have met JCI standards. It is expected that Vinmec will have 10 hospitals nationwide by 2020.
