Cancer Prevention Week includes two main activities which are free examination and screening consultations, as well as sharing sessions on cancer prevention, detection and treatment methods.
Currently, the rate of cancer is increasing. Cancer can occur due to frequent exposure to chemicals, viruses, radioactive substances, etc. Or due to unhealthy habits in daily life such as smoking, skipping breakfast, staying up late, being inactive, practicing unsafe sex, etc.
In Vietnam, compared to 2018, the incidence of cancer increased by 9 places. Specifically, it ranked 90/185 countries. The death rate caused by cancer increased by 6 places, ranking 50/185 countries. It is estimated that up to now, there have been 122,690 deaths from cancer and 182,563 new cancer cases.
Globally, there are about 20 million new cancer cases each year. More than 10 million deaths from this "malignant" disease. The data is estimated based on the source of the World Health Organization - WHO. These numbers are very alarming.
Therefore, cancer screening for timely detection and treatment is necessary and important. Understanding this issue, Vinmec Central Park launched Cancer Prevention Week with the goal of raising awareness and knowledge about cancer for participants.
