On November 23 afternoon, Vinmec Times City hospital hosted the second Heart Failure patient club with the participation of cardiovascular experts, bringing useful information for members.
Over 60 members of the club, all of whom are patients who have visited Vinmec Times City Hospital for cardiovascular examination and treatment and are interested in heart failure are presented to share their concerns and listen to Vinmec experts guidance about healthcare and treatment. For the first time, the session featured Professor PhD Đỗ Doãn Lợi, Vice President of Vietnam Cardiology association, senior advisor of Vinmec healthcare system and Dr. Vikram Palanivel from University of Pennsylvania, top 8 universities in the U.S
Experts share crucial knowledge about heart failure including: early detection, treatment obligation, adopting proper lifestyle, other advanced diagnostic and treatment methods in Vinmec.
Professor Đỗ Doãn Lợi has discussed knowledge about heart failure as well as prevention, how to alleviate risk factors and present heart failure treatments at the moment.
Closely related to taking care of patients daily, specialist level 2 Doctor - Phạm Tuyết Trinh; Head of inpatient unit, Cardiology Institute, Vinmec Times City shared tips about nutrition, exercises, mental and discussed with family members on how to live “peacefully” with the condition in the long run.
At the age of 75, with a history of myocardial infarction, atrial fibrillation and heart failure for years, patient Nguyễn Thế Bản went through coronary artery bypass surgery at Vinmec Times City in 9/2019. However, community’s understanding about heart failure is still restricted, treatment in many low-level institutions are not yet in line with current guidelines, affecting quality of management and treatment for heart failure
In that context, in order to improve management effectiveness as well as treatment quality for patients, Vinmec Times City founded a specialized cardiovascular clinic. When diagnosed with heart failure, patients will be monitored regularly, treated and taken care of according to U.S standardized protocols. The clinic will also enhance health education, contribute in raising awareness and understanding about heart failure for the community
