Vinmec Times City has become the first hospital in Vietnam to earn the JCI Certification – the world's leading standard for medical safety and quality – under the Academic Medical Center standards.
This marks the fourth time Vinmec Times City International General Hospital has been accredited with JCI standards. However, this is the first time the hospital has been evaluated under the Academic Medical Center standards of JCI. These standards are specifically designed for academic hospitals that integrate treatment, training, and clinical research, including criteria for education and human trials.
JCI (Joint Commission International) represents the most rigorous global standards for hospital safety and quality. Each subsequent evaluation becomes more demanding than the previous one, as JCI expects hospitals to adopt the best practices currently available worldwide.
Vinmec Times City not only successfully passed the fourth evaluation but also became the first in Vietnam to meet new criteria related to medical training and research, which were evaluated for the first time.
Vinmec Times City is honored to be among six hospitals globally chosen by JCI to pilot its new accreditation model, which features more stringent and rigorous evaluation criteria. The JCI assessment team highly commended Vinmec Times City for its maturity in consistently enhancing safety and quality to deliver greater value to the community.
Beyond its four successful JCI certifications, Vinmec Times City has also achieved multiple international specialty quality certifications, including the International Center of Excellence (ICOE) certification from the American College of Cardiology (ACC) for its Cardiology Center, CAP Accreditation for laboratory testing, RTAC Certification for reproductive assistance, the Center of Excellence (COE) in Sports Medicine certification from the Asian Football Confederation, and ADCARE Certification for allergy and immunology.
Over its 12 years of development, marked by outstanding professional achievements, Vinmec Times City has transformed into an Academic Medical Center. This transformation has been driven by its collaboration with VinUni University for medical training and partnerships with Vinmec and VinUni Research Institutes to conduct clinical trials.
The successful accreditation of Vinmec Times City under JCI’s Academic Medical Center standards underscores its commitment to delivering exceptional professional quality, advancing groundbreaking research, and contributing to the training of high-quality medical professionals for Vietnam.
