The Vinmec Healthcare System has announced that Vinmec Central Park International Hospital has become the second member of the Cleveland Clinic Connected program in Vietnam.
Cleveland Clinic is one of the largest non-profit academic medical systems globally and ranks among the world’s top healthcare providers. Cleveland Clinic operates 23 hospitals and more than 276 outpatient facilities worldwide.
For many consecutive years, the system has been recognized in the “Best Hospitals in America” rankings by U.S. News & World Report and listed in the “World’s Best Hospitals 2023” by Newsweek.
With the goal of building a network that brings together hospitals and healthcare organizations with a shared vision of providing the best possible care and treatment for patients, Cleveland Clinic launched the Cleveland Clinic Connected program to meet the pressing global demand for improved healthcare standards, especially after the pandemic.
To join Cleveland Clinic Connected, member hospitals worldwide must comply with the program’s core principles of patient safety, quality of care, continuous improvement, and patient experience.
The Cleveland Clinic delegation conducted a direct evaluation of the implementation at Vinmec Central Park, interviewing each member of the hospital’s leadership team, holding independent discussions with doctors, nurses, and patients currently undergoing treatment.
After joining, experts from Cleveland Clinic and Vinmec Central Park will collaborate in key specialties such as oncology, cardiology, and neurology to comprehensively assess current operations, identify areas for improvement, and provide consultations on integrating Cleveland Clinic’s globally recognized operational and professional standards. This collaboration extends to reviewing clinical workflows, refining treatment protocols, and enhancing patient safety measures to ensure a seamless alignment with international best practices.
In addition to these efforts, the teams will jointly develop and implement innovative healthcare initiatives designed to elevate the quality of patient care. These initiatives aim to optimize clinical outcomes, improve patient experiences, and establish Vinmec Central Park as a benchmark for excellence in Vietnam’s healthcare sector. Together, they strive to bring world-class medical services closer to the local community, ensuring accessibility to exceptional healthcare.
Dr. Tommaso Falcone, Vice President and Chair of International and Emerging Markets at Cleveland Clinic Health System, stated: "The partnership between Cleveland Clinic and Vinmec Central Park is built on a solid foundation of mutual understanding and a shared vision with the Vinmec Healthcare System.
Together, we are driving positive changes in care, treatment, and patient experience. We are delighted to welcome Vinmec Central Park as a member of the Cleveland Clinic Connected network."
Ms. Le Thuy Anh, CEO of Vinmec Healthcare System under Vingroup, stated:
"Becoming a member of the global network initiated by Cleveland Clinic not only affirms Vinmec’s quality in treatment and healthcare but also marks its journey toward international standards, positioning itself as a leading healthcare system in the Asia-Pacific region.
Following Vinmec Times City’s membership in Cleveland Clinic Connected in 2023, we have continued to expand and successfully undergone assessment at Vinmec Central Park. With support from an outstanding healthcare system like Cleveland Clinic, Vinmec Central Park will further strengthen its development, continuously standardize and enhance its capabilities to become the premier choice for world-class healthcare services in the region."
Before Vinmec Central Park, Vinmec Times City became the second hospital worldwide to join Cleveland Clinic Connected in January 2023. Over more than a year of collaboration, Vinmec Times City has achieved significant improvements in Safety, Quality, and Patient Experience (SQPE) by applying Cleveland Clinic’s standardized processes for analysis and evaluation. These processes help identify and address the root causes of quality and safety issues.
The Vinmec Cardiology Center and Sarcoma Center are supported by Cleveland Clinic experts in jointly applying international standards to deliver high treatment efficiency in Vietnam. This partnership highlights Vinmec's commitment to continuously improving the quality of healthcare services and offering patients access to world-class expertise without the need to travel abroad.
Experts from Vinmec and Cleveland Clinic maintain ongoing exchanges on professional expertise, updates on new techniques, and discussions on clinical cases. These regular interactions help foster a culture of continuous learning and innovation, enhancing the capabilities of Vinmec’s medical team. For complex cases admitted to Vinmec, patients can benefit from consultations with Cleveland Clinic specialists to ensure accurate diagnoses, leading to the determination of the most optimal treatment plans and better patient outcomes.
