According to the Ministry of Health, around 200,000 people die from cardiovascular diseases each year in Vietnam. Over 50% of those cases are due to cerebrovascular diseases (statistics from 2019). Additionally, statistics from National Institute of Cardiovascular shows from 2000 to 2015, hypertension rate among adults in Vietnam increases about 1% each year and it has reached 25%. Given the increasing prevalence of cardiovascular disease, screening would help early detection of cardiovascular diseases' risk and avoid exacerbation as well as directly reduce the mortality rate. Not only bringing along chances for screening, this program also succeeded in spreading the message about protecting one’s health and the community’s well-being.
