To meet the requirements of medical examination, treatment and rehabilitation, improve the ability of the locomotor system. The Vinmec Orthopedic and Sports Medicine Center in the northern region was formally established and started to work on 02/08/2021. With the aim to become an excellent Orthopedic and Sports Medicine center in Vietnam and worldwide, the center has gathered the young, professional and experienced team with outstanding skills in doing research, application and creativity to bring the perfect service and solutions to the customer who suffer from the defect in locomotor system with the advanced, unique method and techniques in Vietnam.
The first and only special methods and techniques in Vietnam currently being performed at the center include:
- Partial or total bone and joint replacement surgery, using prosthetics to preserve limbs for patients with bone cancer, soft tissue tumors, and musculoskeletal disorders. Currently, all children with bone cancer at the center receive treatment sponsored by the Thien Tam Fund.
- Hip and knee joint replacement surgeries using 3D digital technology with personalized tools for each patient in Vietnam, improving surgical quality and prolonging the lifespan of artificial joints.
- Arthroscopic surgery for joint reconstruction and repair of ligament and meniscus injuries, performed accurately with the use of 3D technology and robotic assistance, unique in Vietnam.
- The first elbow replacement and reverse shoulder joints replacement surgery in Vietnam.
- The first metacarpophalangeal joint replacement surgery in Vietnam.
- Rehabilitation specialized in sports medicine.
- Motion analysis for diagnosing, monitoring, and improving performance for athletes; diagnosing and supporting recovery for patients.
The experts of the center are the first people to apply systematically and successfully advanced technologies in treatment and taking care of patients with the defects in musculoskeletal systems like 3D technology (reconstruction 3D images and 3D bioprinting of artificial bone joints), the technology for personalized assistive devices is created and 3D bioprinted, along with the technology for manufacturing and applying artificial bones and joints by using new materials, and precise robotic surgery techniques.
