This marks the first time a tissue bank in Vietnam has achieved AABB certification in both fields, making it one of only 24 tissue banks worldwide to meet standards in both areas.
The AABB (Association for the Advancement of Blood & Biotherapies) certification is a globally recognized accreditation focused on enhancing the quality and safety of the collection, processing, storage, and distribution of cell therapy products. This certification serves as a trusted assurance for medical professionals seeking high-quality cord blood stem cell banks for their patients.
To achieve AABB certification, tissue banks must undergo a rigorous evaluation process by a council of experts, including specialists in cord blood, medical ethics, and global stem cell transplantation. The assessment process typically lasts 1-2 years.
To meet AABB standards, Vinmec Tissue Bank has invested heavily over the years in advanced technology and processes compliant with FDA standards (U.S. Food and Drug Administration).
