Uses of Invel

Invel contains 2 main ingredients, Miconazol nitrate and Metronidazole, which are effective in treating vaginal candidiasis and vaginitis caused by many reasons.

1. What is Invel?

Invel is a vaginal suppository, prepared in tablet form. Each Invel tablet contains the following ingredients:

  • Metronidazole 500mg.
  • Miconazole nitrate 100mg.
  • Excipients are just enough for 1 Invel tablet.

2. Effects of Invel

Effects of the main ingredients in the Invel formula:

  • Antibacterial and antifungal effects, treating Trichomonas.
  • Metronidazole: Has a broad spectrum, effective on most anaerobic bacteria and protozoa. However, this active ingredient does not affect fungi, viruses, and aerobic bacteria.
  • Miconazol: Has antibacterial and antifungal effects.

With the above effects, Invel is indicated in the following cases:

  • Invel is indicated for the treatment of vaginal candidiasis;
  • Vaginitis is caused by Trichomonas, bacteria, or mixed infections.

3. How to use and dosage of Invel

How to use Invel:

  • Insert Invel deep into the vagina while lying down. Can be inserted in the morning or evening before going to bed.
  • Invel is for vaginal use only, do not swallow.

Instructions for Invel:

  • Do not use Invel for children.
  • Insert 1 Invel tablet in the evening for 14 days or 1 tablet/time, twice a day in the morning and evening for 7 days.
  • In cases of vaginitis resistant to other treatments, the disease recurs, it is recommended to insert Invel twice a day.

How to manage the missed dose of Invel:

  • Missed dose: Take a replacement dose of Invel as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose. Do not take 2 Invel tablets at the same time to make up for a missed dose.

4. Contraindications to using Invel

Do not use Invel in the following cases:

  • Allergy to the ingredients of Invel.
  • Pregnant women in the first 3 months.
  • Porphyrin metabolism disorder.
  • Severe liver dysfunction.
  • Epilepsy.

5. Undesirable effects of Invel

Invel may cause the following side effects:

  • Headache and fatigue.
  • Itching, burning, or hypersensitivity reactions such as rash.
  • Lower white blood cells;
  • Loss of coordination or neurological changes.
  • Convulsions;
  • Diarrhea, constipation, loss of appetite.
  • Vomiting and nausea;
  • Abdominal pain;
  • Changes in taste;
  • Dry mouth, metallic taste.

Vaginal burning or itching may occur when using Invel for the first time. If any unusual signs occur, contact a doctor immediately or go to the nearest medical facility for timely treatment.

6. Drug interactions

Interactions may occur when using Invel at the same time as the following drugs:

  • Alcohol and Disulfiram: Using Invel together causes effects on the nervous system.
  • Invel increases the effectiveness of anticoagulants when used at the same time.
  • Phenytoin, Phenobarbital.
  • Invel increases Lithium toxicity.
  • Cimetidine, Astemizole and Terfenadine.

To ensure safety, inform doctor about any medications, dietary supplements, or medical history to consider possible interactions.

7. Notes when using Invel and how to store it

  • Pregnant women should not use Invel in the first 3 months of pregnancy, consult adoctor before use. Metronidazole is excreted in breast milk, so do not use Invel while breastfeeding or do not breastfeed 24 - 48 hours after the mother takes the drug.
  • Invel does not affect the ability to drive and operate machinery.
  • Read the instructions for Invel carefully before use.
  • Do not drink alcohol while taking Invel, at least 24-48 hours after taking the drug.
  • If the patient is infected with Trichomonas, the sexual partner must also be treated.

Preserving Invel:

  • Store Invel in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight.
  • Keep Invel out of reach of children.
