Panamax is a tablet containing 500mg of the active ingredient Paracetamol. It is manufactured by Sanofi Aventis, an Australian company. So, what is Panamax used for?
1. What conditions does Panamax treat?
Panamax, with 500mg of paracetamol, helps reduce pain and fever in adults (such as arthritis, headaches, and muscle pain) and children (like teething, ear pain, and post-vaccination pain).
2. How to use Panamax?
The usual dosage is: Adults: 1 to 2 tablets. This dose may be repeated every 4 to 6 hours if necessary. Do not exceed 8 tablets within 24 hours.
Children (7-12 years old): Half (1/2) to 1 tablet. This dose may be repeated every 4 to 6 hours if necessary. Children should not exceed 4 tablets within 24 hours.
Panamax is not suitable for children under 7 years old. Swallow the tablet whole with a small amount of water or another liquid.
3. Contraindications of Panamax
Panamax should not be used in patients who are allergic to paracetamol or any other ingredients in the formula. It is also contraindicated for patients with known glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency. Panamax should not be used in patients with impaired liver function.
4. Possible side effects of Panamax
If you feel unwell while using Panamax, inform your pharmacist or doctor as soon as possible. Like other medications, Panamax can cause some side effects. If they occur, they are likely to be minor and temporary. However, if they are severe, medical treatment may be necessary.
Speak to your pharmacist or doctor if you experience symptoms like nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, indigestion, or excessive sweating.
Contact your doctor immediately if you experience any of the following: skin inflammation, painful red areas with blisters and peeling skin, possibly accompanied by fever or chills; liver inflammation (symptoms include loss of appetite, itching, yellowing of the skin and eyes, light-colored stools, or dark urine).

- Do not take this medicine if you have liver or kidney issues.
