Indications for Titanoreine

Titanoreine is a topical cream used to alleviate symptoms of hemorrhoids, such as swelling, pain, and burning. How should Titanoreine be used, and what precautions should be taken when using it?

1. What is Titanoreine?

Titanoreine is a medication used to treat hemorrhoids, including both internal and external hemorrhoids. The drug is formulated as a cream, with a 20g tube containing ingredients such as carrageenan (2.5g), zinc oxide, lidocaine, and titanium dioxide (2g each).
Titanoreine is applied topically to the anal area to help relieve pain, burning caused by hemorrhoids, while also causing the hemorrhoidal tissues to temporarily shrink.

2. Effects of Titanoreine

With the active ingredients mentioned above, Titanoreine has the following specific effects:

  • Carrageenan: Helps lubricate and improve constipation, making it easier for stool to pass through the anus and exit the body.
  • Zinc oxide: Provides mild antimicrobial properties, helps to tighten the skin, thereby aiding in the shrinkage of hemorrhoids.
  • Titanium dioxide: Assists in lubrication and also has antifungal and antibacterial properties, preventing secondary infections from fungi and bacteria in the anal and rectal areas when hemorrhoids cause damage, thus reducing inflammation and ulceration.
  • Lidocaine: Acts as a local anesthetic, interrupting the transmission of nerve impulses that cause pain to the central nervous system.

With the above effects, Titanoreine is indicated in the following cases:

  • Reduces inflammation and swelling of hemorrhoids in individuals with internal hemorrhoids, external hemorrhoids or both.
  • Improves pain, burning, and itching in patients experiencing acute hemorrhoidal flare-ups.
  • Shortens the treatment duration for hemorrhoids by temporarily shrinking the hemorrhoidal tissues.
  • Causes atrophy and constriction of the deep veins within the hemorrhoids, helping to alleviate pain and discomfort during bowel movements as stool passes and rubs against the hemorrhoids.

3. Instructions for using Titanoreine

As with any other medication, to achieve optimal treatment results, patients should follow the usage instructions and guidance provided by their doctor. The method for using Titanoreine hemorrhoid cream is as follows:

  • First, the patient should use saline or cooled boiled water mixed with a little salt to clean the anal area.
  • Next, use a very soft towel to gently pat dry the anal area and surrounding skin. Avoid rubbing or scrubbing too hard to prevent affecting the wounds.
  • Then, the patient should take a small amount of Titanoreine cream with clean hands and gently apply it to the hemorrhoids and the surrounding area. For internal hemorrhoids, where the hemorrhoids are located inside, the patient can use their fingers or a suitable applicator to insert the medication inside.
  • Finally, after applying the medication, it is important to wash hands thoroughly with soap and water to avoid transferring any medication to the eyes, nose, or mouth. The patient should rest and lie still for a while to allow the medication to penetrate deeply into the hemorrhoids, enhancing the treatment effectiveness.

4. Precautions when using Titanoreine

Titanoreine may cause some side effects such as allergies, skin irritation, rashes, itching, and a tingling sensation at the application area during use. However, these adverse reactions are very rare. If any unusual symptoms are noticed, the patient should contact a doctor immediately.
Some precautions when using Titanoreine are as follows:

  • To enhance the effectiveness of the medication, it is best to apply it after defecation, applying it twice a day in the morning and evening. However, do not apply the medication more than four times a day.
  • Wearing medical gloves while applying the medication can help limit the spread of infection, which could worsen the condition.
  • Since it is in cream form, do not store Titanoreine in hot or high-temperature areas. Instead, it should be kept in a cool and dry place.
  • Do not combine Titanoreine with other medications without consulting a doctor to prevent drug interactions, increase the risk of unwanted side effects, and reduce the therapeutic effects of the medication.
  • For hemorrhoids, in addition to applying the medication, it is important to maintain a suitable diet and engage in moderate, gentle exercise to avoid putting pressure on the hemorrhoids.

To enhance the effectiveness of using Titanoreine in the treatment of hemorrhoids, it is recommended to apply the medication twice a day, but no more than four times a day, preferably in the morning and evening, after defecation or after bathing.
