On November 21, 2019, Professor Takeshi Sugaya from St. Marianna University School of Medicine, Kanagawa, Japan, visited and worked with the Vinmec BioBank.
Professor Takeshi Sugaya introduced a collaborative program between Vietnam and Japan in the field of Science and Technology. Notably, he shared compelling evidence on the critical role of biobanks in identifying biomarkers for precision medicine.
As a member of the Japan National Center Biobank Network, Professor Sugaya presented an overview of biobank networks in Japan, with a particular focus on biobanks related to cancer, cardiovascular diseases, neurological and muscular disorders, as well as development-related diseases.
Importantly, the meeting identified a direction for future discussions focusing on fostering collaboration between Vinmec BioBank and the Japan National Center Biobank Network.
