Inquiry
Hello doctor,
I've been drinking instant coffee (1 packet per day) and Red Bull for nearly 5 years. The discomfort occurred roughly two years ago, so I've been using them less frequently. I experience pain and numbness in my left chest whenever I drink coffee. Additionally, I notice muscle twitching in the left side of my chest, an irregular pulse, and a transient discomfort reduction after intense physical activities. I wonder if it is normal to have numbness and pain in the left chest following coffee consumption.
Thank you.

Response
Thanks for sending your inquiry,
The doctor would like to respond to the question, "Is it okay to have left chest pain after drinking coffee?" as follows:
The symptoms you mention may be more closely related to cardiovascular and digestive disorders. Because they frequently appear when you consume coffee or energy beverages. To diagnose the cause and develop a treatment plan, you must consult a qualified medical professional and may undergo tests such as an electrocardiogram (ECG), echocardiography, and maybe gastroduodenoscopy.
If you have further questions about chest pain after drinking coffee, you can seek medical attention at a Vinmec Health System facility. Thank you for your trust and for submitting your query to Vinmec. I wish you good health.
Sincerely!
