To provide pharmacists with the opportunity to observe and learn from advancements in medication management, Vinmec sent Pharmacist, Master Nguyễn Hoàng Phương Khanh to participate in an internship program at Alfred Hospital, Australia, from February to March 2019.
Australia is one of the countries with a highly developed clinical pharmacy practice, focusing on the interaction between patients and clinical pharmacists. This environment provided an ideal opportunity for Vinmec's pharmacists to observe and gain practical experience.

Training Content:
Observing clinical pharmacy activities in ICU, Cardiology, and Infectious Diseases departments, including multidisciplinary rounds, medication history taking, inpatient medication management, and discharge counseling.
Observing activities in subcommittees on drug safety, ADR (Adverse Drug Reactions), Medication Errors (ME), drug information, anticoagulant management, and antibiotic stewardship.
Practical application:
Applying knowledge gained from the internship to implement similar practices at Vinmec Central Park, including participation in multidisciplinary rounds, taking medication histories, monitoring drug levels in the blood to optimize treatment, providing discharge counseling, and developing an antibiotic stewardship program.
