Vinmec Clinical Pharmacy is being developed following Australia’s international standard model, enhancing the role of clinical pharmacists in multidisciplinary patient care. In September - October 2014, Vinmec sent MSc. Nguyen Le Trang, a clinical pharmacist, to participate in the Clinical Pharmacy Model Internship Program at Royal Northshore Hospital, Australia.
Australia is one of the leading countries in clinical pharmacy (medication management). Clinical pharmacy practices here focus on the interaction between patients and clinical pharmacists, offering an ideal environment for Vinmec pharmacists to observe and gain practical knowledge.

Training format:
On-site training, practical observation, and focused lectures.
Training content:
- Observation and understanding of the clinical pharmacy model at Royal Northshore Hospital:
- Participating in ward rounds and multidisciplinary antibiotic teams across departments.
- Observing interviews and counseling conducted by pharmacists in ICU, internal medicine, and surgery.
- Participating in training with the resident pharmacist team: Exploring internal pharmacy training models and hospital CME (Continuing Medical Education) sessions.
- Learning about other activities of the Pharmacy Department:
- Centralized compounding activities, drug dispensing, storage, and preservation.
Clinical pharmacy, specialized units within the Pharmacy Department of Vinmec Healthcare System, provides consultation and drug information services to healthcare professionals and patients.
