Additionally, some other effects of the drug are not listed on the approved drug label, but in some cases, doctors may prescribe Nifuroxazide 200mg. Therefore, before taking the medication, consult your doctor.
2. How to use Nifuroxazide
Nifuroxazide is available in suspension form with a concentration of 100mg/5ml and tablet form with a concentration of 500mg. The dosage will depend on the patient's condition and age.
- For patients with good resistance: 500mg, taken twice a day for 3 days.
- For AIDS patients: 1000mg, taken twice a day for 14 days.
- Dosage for children with Cryptosporidium infection or Giardia infection:
- Children aged 12-47 months: 100mg with food every 12 hours for 3 days.
- Children aged 4-11 years: 200mg with food every 12 hours for 3 days.
- Children aged 12 years and older: 500mg, taken twice a day for 3 days.
- Usual dosage for children with roundworm infection: taken every morning and evening for 3 days:
- Children aged 2-3 years: 100mg/5ml
- Children aged 4-11 years: 200mg/10ml
Patients can take the medication with food and treat for 3 days for effective results. However, to reduce stomach irritation, you can take it with food and drink the entire tablet with a full glass of water, without chewing or breaking the tablet.
3. Unwanted side effects when using Nifuroxazide
Nifuroxazide can cause some common unwanted side effects, including:
- Difficulty breathing
- Stiff throat
- Swelling of lips, face, tongue
- Rash
- Nausea
- Diarrhea
- Vomiting
- Headache
Before prescribing the medication, doctors always weigh the benefits and effectiveness of Nifuroxazide. When using Nifuroxazide 200mg, unwanted side effects may still occur, and patients should immediately inform their doctor or nurse for prompt medical intervention.
4. Some precautions when using Nifuroxazide
Some precautions when using Nifuroxazide include:

5. How to store Nifuroxazide
Store Nifuroxazide film-coated tablets at room temperature below 30°C, away from light and moisture.
