Betahistine 16mg works by improving blood flow within the ear, helping to reduce increased pressure. The drug is formulated as a white, round tablet with a convex shape on both sides, one side is smooth and the other is engraved with a line.

2. Dosage of betahistine

Betahistine 16mg is taken orally, as directed by your doctor or pharmacist.

  • For adults: 
    Initial dose: 8-16 mg 3 times/day.
    Maintenance dose: 24-48 mg/day.
    Do not exceed 48 mg/day.
  • Elderly: 
    Betahistine 16mg should be used with caution. Please consult your doctor before taking this medication.
  • Children and adolescents: 
    Betahistine is not recommended for use in children and adolescents under 18 years of age due to a lack of adequate studies and insufficient data on safety and efficacy.

3. How to Use Betahistine 16mg

Use Betahistine 16mg exactly as directed by your doctor, or take it according to the dosage instructions on the package insert. 5. Some Precautions When Using Betahistine 16mg

5.1 Precautions Before Taking the Medication

  • You are allergic to betahistine or any of the other ingredients in the medication.
  • You have a rare tumor of the adrenal gland (pheochromocytoma).
  • You have a stomach ulcer.
  • You have asthma.

  • You have low blood pressure.

5.2 Overdose
In case of emergency or overdose, go immediately to a medical facility for timely support.
Also, remember the name of the medicine or bring any medications you have taken, including prescription and over-the-counter medicines.

5.3 Missed Dose
If you forget to take a dose of Betahistine 16mg, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your next dose at the scheduled time. Do not take a double dose.  

5.4 Drug Interactions
Betahistine 16mg can interact with some antihistamines and monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) – used to treat depression or Parkinson's disease (such as tranylcypromine, phenelzine and isocarboxazid).
