Baczoline 1000 is produced in the form of a vial of powder for intravenous infusion, used for both infants and adults. So what is Baczoline 1000 drug? What is Baczoline 1000 used for? What is the correct way to drink? What points should be considered and noted when taking this drug? The following article will help you better understand the use of Baczoline 1000.

1. What are the uses of Baczoline 1000?

1.1. What is Baczoline 1000? Baczoline 1000 belongs to the group of anti-parasitic, anti-infective, anti-viral, anti-fungal drugs.
Baczoline 1000 has the main ingredients: Cefazolin sodium 1g.
Baczoline 1000 is prepared as a powder for injection with a content of 1 gram. The drug can be used for both children from 1 month of age and older and adults 1.2. What is Baczoline 1000 used for? Cefazolin is a first-generation cephalosporin antibiotic that inhibits the growth and division of bacteria by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis.
Cefazolin has strong effect in Gram-positive (+) infections caused by Staphylococcus Aureus (including Penicillinase-producing strains); Staphylococcus Epidermidis, Group A Streptococcus Betahemolyticus, Streptococcus Pneumoniae and other Streptococcus strains. Cefazolin is also active against a few aerobic Gram (-) bacilli such as: Escherichia Coli, Klebsiella sp, Proteus Mirabilis and Haemophilus Influenzae.
Baczoline - 1000 is prescribed by a doctor in the following cases:
Ear, nose and throat infections, bronchitis, pneumonia, bacteremia, endocarditis. Oral, skin, serosa, bone and joint infections. Some cases of sepsis and endocarditis. Some cases of urogenital and biliary tract infections Prophylactic surgery: Use of cefazolin before, during, and after surgery may reduce the incidence of postoperative infections in patients undergoing surgery with significant high risk of infection or surgery where a particularly serious postoperative infection may occur.

2. Usage of Baczoline 1000

2.1. How to use Baczoline 1000 The drug is used for intravenous infusion
1 g vial should only be diluted with distilled water for injection. Shake the injectable drug vigorously when mixing with the solvent until the drug is completely dissolved. Intramuscular, injection or intravenous infusion continuously or intermittently.
2.2. Dosage of Baczoline 1000 Intravenous infusion:
Usual dose for adults: 0.5 - 1 g each time, 6 - 12 hours/time. The usual maximum dose is 6 g/24 hours. In case of serious life-threatening infections, 12 g/24 hours is used. Dosage for children over 1 month old: Can be used 25-50 mg/kg body weight/day divided into 3 or 4 times/day; In severe infections, the dose can be increased to a maximum of 100 mg/kg body weight/day, divided into 4 times/day. Prophylaxis of infection in surgery: Inject 1 g dose 30 minutes - 60 minutes before surgery. For prolonged surgery, a further dose of 0.5 - 1g should be given during surgery. After surgery, injection dose of 0.5 - 1g, 6-8 hours / time in 24 hours or in 5 days for some cases (open heart surgery and implantation of orthopedic organs). Dosage adjustment is required for patients with renal impairment:
Patients with clearance >55 ml/min take the usual dose. In patients with a clearance of 35-54 ml/min, the usual dose should be given at least 8 hours between doses. In patients with a clearance of 11-34 ml/min, take a dose equal to 1/2 of the usual dose with an interval of at least 12 hours. In patients with clearance < 10 ml/min, take a dose equal to 1/2 of the usual dose with a interval of at least 18-24 hours. Handling when missed dose:
Usually the drug will be used at medical facilities, specialized clinics or home treatment doctors, so missed doses will be limited. However, if you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember and if it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with a new dose. Do not inject a double dose.
Treatment of overdose:
In case the patient has a seizure, the drug should be stopped immediately, anticonvulsant treatment if clinically indicated. Protect the patient's respiratory tract, support ventilation and infusion. Carefully monitor and maintain within the allowable range the patient's vital signs, such as gas-blood levels, serum electrolytes...
Severe overdose, especially in patients renal failure, dialysis and blood transfusion may be combined if conservative treatment fails. However, there are no data to support this treatment.

3. Contraindications of Baczoline 1000

Patients who are allergic to the main active ingredient cefazolin, cephalosporin group, local anesthetics or any of the excipients of the drug

4. Notes when using Baczoline 1000

Before initiating treatment with Baczoline 1000, the patient's history of allergy to cephalosporins, penicillins or any other drugs should be thoroughly investigated. Partial cross-allergic reactions between penicillins and cephalosporins have been reported. Some patients have had severe reactions (including anaphylaxis) to both drugs. Therefore, it is preferable to avoid Baczoline 1000 in patients with a history of penicillin anaphylaxis or other severe IgE immune globulin-mediated reactions. If there is any sign of an allergic reaction to cefazolin, the drug should be discontinued immediately and the patient treated with commonly used anti-shock agents (eg, adrenaline or vasoconstrictor amines, corticosteroids, antihistamines). Care should be taken when prescribing broad-spectrum antibiotics (including cefazolin) to individuals with a history of gastrointestinal disease, particularly inflammatory bowel disease. Long-term use of cefazolin may result in overgrowth of non-susceptible organisms. It is necessary to monitor the patient carefully during the use of Baczoline 1000. If superinfection occurs during treatment, appropriate measures should be taken. When using Baczoline 1000 for patients with impaired renal function, it is necessary to reduce the daily dose.
Continue taking the medicine until the end of the prescribed dose, even if the symptoms disappear after only a few days of treatment. Stopping the medication too soon can cause bacteria to continue to grow, which can lead to a relapse of the infection.

5. Side effects of Baczoline 1000

Drugs like all Cephalosporins can cause reactions ranging from neutropenia to harmful leukopenia. All cases occurred due to high cumulative association after one course of treatment. Immune hemolytic anemia is often seen during treatment with very high doses.
Drugs that interfere with vitamin E-dependent coagulation factor synthesis.
Attention should be paid to monitoring bleeding time in patients at risk. Renal impairment, liver dysfunction, a history of gastrointestinal disease, and nutritional deficiencies may increase the risk of bleeding in patients treated with the drug. In case of undesirable effects, the drug must be discontinued.
Hopefully, the above sharing will help users better understand the use of Baczoline 1000 as well as the dose to use it to be safe and most effective when treating.
