According to Vinmec Healthcare System's representative, over the past years, Vinmec has implemented a large number of health education activities, screening programs for common diseases in the community, and provided professional support to provincial hospitals.
50% of screened people at risk of disease
Ms. Kieu Oanh, 49 years old, living in Hanoi, discovered she had Stage 0 breast cancer after a routine examination at the Breast Center of Vinmec Times City International Hospital. Opportunity has arrived for her when her disease was detected early and she received a precise medical treatment regimen. According to VInmec's doctor, Ms. Oanh was in better condition after undergoing a surgery to remove the tumor and continuing to receive radiotherapy at Vinmec.

Realizing the urgency in raising people's awareness, Vinmec Healthcare System has organized several community screening programs, with the goal of ensuring early detection and timely treatment of dangerous diseases such as breast cancer, thyroid cancer, cardiovascular disease, stroke, and diabetes.
Thyroid and breast illnesses, in particular, are frequent among people of all ages nowadays. Curing them will be more likely to succeed if they are detected early and treated promptly. Since the beginning of 2022, Vinmec has widely deployed a series of free examination programs for breast and thyroid diseases, together with many workshops to raise community awareness. The programs have attracted the participation of more than 800 people in Hanoi and more than 300 people in many areas in Da Nang city, the Central and the Central Highlands regions.
According to statistics from Vinmec's screening programs, nearly 50% of the participants were detected with breast disease, 70% were detected with thyroid disease, and more than 20% required intervention for in-depth diagnosis.
In parallel with these activities, Vinmec organized a series of workshops to raise awareness about cardiovascular diseases, attracting nearly 1,000 participants aged 35 and over, who are at high risk of these diseases. Cardiovascular Center - Vinmec Times City International Hospital also provided free consultation, screening, and guidance on recognizing and controlling cardiovascular-related risk factors for nearly 500 customers in Hanoi. The statistics at the event in August 2022 showed that 50.8% of these customers had cardiovascular diseases risk.
Spreading expertise knowledge to provincial-level hospitals
Together with community health screening activities for people nationwide, Vinmec Health System also provides professional support to and cooperation with many provincial-level hospitals. According to Vinmec representative, by January 2023, Vinmec has signed professional cooperation agreements with 4 major hospitals, including Ha Tinh Provincial General Hospital, Hung Vuong General Hospital (Phu Tho), Ninh Binh Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital, and Phu Tho Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital, to improve the medical examination and treatment capacity at provincial-level hospitals and help local people have access to the most advanced treatment methods and techniques.
Vinmec has provided expertise and technical support to provincial-level hospitals in key specialties, such as cardiology, cardiac surgery and cardiovascular intervention, treatment and management of heart failure patients, liver transplant, bone cancer surgery and treatment, surgery for esophageal cancer and colorectal cancer, and fertility support.
Vinmec also plans to organize training programs with the aim of improving the capacity in quality management, as well as continuous training programs and seminars for doctors at provincial-level hospitals. At each department, the cooperating groups of Vinmec and the provincial-level hospital will jointly identify the procedures for coordinating, receiving and treating patients at all stages, in order to achieve the highest possible efficiency.

On February 18-19, Ha Tinh Provincial General Hospital and Vinmec Times City International Hospital jointly organized scientific seminars and continuous training programs to grant CME certificates on diagnosis and treatment of bone cancer treatment to medical specialists. Vinmec experts trained and disseminated expertise to 120 doctors and medical staffs. On the same day, the doctors at the Orthopedics and Sports Medicine Center directly conducted free consultation and bone and joint screening sessions for people in Ha Tinh province. After the screening sessions, a new case of bone cancer, a case of abscess in the right thigh, a case of forearm bone deformities, and many cases of hip, knee and spine osteoarthritis were detected.
