Free breast cancer screening for over 100 women at Vinmec Times City International Hospital

On October 31, Vinmec Times City International Hospital organized free breast screening for more than 100 women aged 40 and above. This was part of a series of activities in the “Breast cancer screening at 40” campaign launched by the supportive fund for the Cancer Patients - Bright Tomorrow Fund.

Breast cancer is a common type of cancer in the world and in Vietnam. Early detection of breast cancer can lead to less expensive and faster treatment, and the disease can be cured completely. As a result, breast cancer screening is critical for detecting the disease as soon as women reach the high risk age, which is 40 and above.

Vinmec Times City International Hospital has collaborated with the supportive fund for patients with cancer - Bright Tomorrow Fund, to provide free breast screening, including clinical examination, breast ultrasound, and mammograms for suspected malignant breast cancer cases for all 100 women.

MD Nguyen Hai Ha from the Department of Oncology and Hematology at Vinmec Times City International Hospital shared that: “Breast cancer screening and early detection are of great significance in treatment. If the disease is detected in the early stages, the chance of successful treatment is beyond 80%.”

Vinmec Times City International Hospital is one of nine hospitals in Vietnam taking part in the “Breast cancer screening at 40” campaign - an activity in response to Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

So far, Vinmec Times City International Hospital has consistently organized early breast cancer screening programs, as well as health education and awareness raising in breast care for women. Vinmec's early breast cancer screening program has become a popular activity supported by all women nationwide. This extremely meaningful activity has helped thousands of women broaden their understanding of breast health, detect dangerous problems early, and improve their health.
