PinkWin campaign - “Turn Love Into Action To Win Breast Cancer" initiated by Vinmec aims to raise awareness of breast cancer in Vietnam through free screenings for over 2,000 women.
At the event, Ph.D., MD. Nguyen Thu Huong, Head of the Breast Center at Vinmec Times City International Hospital, shared alarming information about the breast cancer situation. In 2020, Vietnam recorded 22,000 new cases and 9,000 deaths due to breast cancer, with an upward trend observed, according to statistics from WHO.
Witnessing the images of breast cancer patients with worsening conditions due to late detection and treatment, the actress couldn't hide her emotional reaction.
The event also included artist Bryan Wilson and psychotherapist Bui Tuyet Minh, who conveyed the message of using music and heartfelt experiences to promote healing and spread a positive spirit of self-love
The pink ribbons were passed among women as a commitment to take action in fighting against breast cancer
Actress Hong Diem shared, “A woman who prioritized abnormalities in a timely manner. The campaign holds significance for the community."
Before taking on the role of a special "ambassador," Hong Diem was also a dedicated customer of Vinmec Breast Center, regularly visiting for in-depth examinations and preventive measures against breast cancer.
Through the "Put Love into Action to Win Breast Cancer" campaign, Vinmec aims to spread the message that early detection of breast cancer using modern screening methods can lead to successful treatment, achieving a survival rate of up to 99% (over a span of 5 and 10 years). Vinmec's community screening campaign is scheduled for Sundays from now until the end of December. The program anticipates offering complimentary screenings to approximately 2,000 to 3,000 individuals.
