PinkWin campaign to raise awareness about breast cancer in 2023 by Vinmec Healthcare System has successfully concluded by promoting the message of love and providing early breast cancer screening opportunities for nearly 3,000 women nationwide.
Breast Cancer Screening - Don't Wait 'Til Tomorrow
According to statistics from the Global Cancer Observatory (GLOBOCAN), breast cancer stands among the most prominent cancer types in Vietnam. Every year, around 21,555 instances of breast cancer are diagnosed in Vietnam, accounting for 25.8% of all cancer cases reported in Vietnamese women. In 2020, Vietnam recorded 9,345 fatalities due to breast cancer. Early identification and diagnosis of breast cancer, on the other hand, allows patients to get softer, more effective, less painful, and more cost-efficient treatments.
Vinmec Healthcare System created the PinkWin campaign - a shared declaration to the battle against breast cancer - to promote public awareness about the need for early breast cancer screening. Over the course of three months, the campaign was organized in the four cities of Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Hai Phong, and Da Nang, successfully drawing the participation of nearly 3,000 women. Among the participants, 257 cases required further diagnostic intervention, and 1,154 cases received mammograms. The PinkWin campaign directly contributed to increasing the rate of early breast cancer treatment, enabling a successful treatment rate of up to 90% by providing free breast cancer screening for all participating women.
Attending the PinkWin event at Vinmec Times City International Hospital, People’s Artist Le Khanh expressed her emotional response to the meaningful goal and encouraged other women to actively undergo regular breast cancer screenings to ensure their well-being alongside their children and families. “Breast cancer can happen to anyone. To share love with others, we have to be healthy first", said People's Artist Le Khanh
PinkWin garnered favorable replies everywhere it went and left special emotions in the hearts of the participants. Signatures and fingerprints left on the pink ribbon symbol at Vinmec Hospital demonstrated that the campaign's profound message was widely accepted and highlighted solidarity and resolve in the fight against breast cancer.
Pinkwin Run - A beautiful ending spreading love
To encourage breast cancer patients in their fight against the disease and commemorate the significant milestones of the PinkWin campaign, Vinmec organized the PinkWin Run with the participation of over 700 "pink warriors" in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. The run featured the participation of actress Hong Diem - a special ambassador for the series of activities to raise awareness and provide complimentary breast cancer screenings for thousands of Vietnamese women at Vinmec International Hospital.
The “pink warriors” in Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City all shared the same heartbeat, the same loving heart, and the same goals: to conquer the pink ribbon race and to inspire breast cancer patients.
While the PinkWin 2023 campaign has reached its successful conclusion, the dedicated doctors at Vinmec remain steadfast in their commitment to support Vietnamese women in their fight against breast cancer. Each woman will become a radiant blossom when blessed with good health. Let’s take action and care about your own health and the health of the women you love now to become the most magnificent blossoms in this world.
