Milgamma contains key active ingredients such as thiamine hydrochloride, pyridoxine hydrochloride, and cyanocobalamin, formulated as an injectable solution. Milgamma N is indicated for use in the following cases:

  • Polyneuritis (due to diabetes, alcoholism, etc.)
  • Cervical syndrome
  • Shoulder-arm syndrome

  • Neurological and hematological symptoms due to vitamin B1, B6, and B12 deficiencies when oral treatment is not suitable

2. How to Use and Dosage of Milgamma N

How to Use: Administer the medication intramuscularly. Milgamma N should be administered as a deep intramuscular injection.
Dosage: To quickly achieve high blood levels of the medication in severe and acute pain cases, start with an injection of 2ml/day. After the acute phase has subsided and in less severe cases, inject 2-3 times/week. During the injection process, the doctor should monitor the patient's treatment weekly and try to switch to oral treatment as soon as possible.

  • Overdose: In case of overdose, the patient will receive immediate treatment support.
  • Missed Dose: Milgamma N is used in medical facilities under the supervision and monitoring of healthcare professionals, so missed doses are rare.

3. Side Effects of Milgamma N

When using Milgamma N, patients may experience some unwanted side effects such as:

  • Immune system disorders: Hypersensitivity reactions (skin rash, shock, angioedema, respiratory distress)
  • Nervous system disorders: Dizziness, decreased concentration
  • Cardiac disorders: Tachycardia or bradycardia, arrhythmia
  • Gastrointestinal disorders: Vomiting
  • Skin and subcutaneous tissue disorders: Excessive sweating, acne, itching, urticaria
  • Musculoskeletal and connective tissue disorders: Muscle cramps
  • Common injection site disorders: Systemic reactions may occur due to rapid flow (unintentional intravenous injection or injection into highly vascularized tissue) or overdose

4. Precautions When Using Milgamma N

Before using the medication, read the instructions carefully and consider the following information:

  • Milgamma N is only for intramuscular injection, not for intravenous injection. If injected intravenously, it should be monitored by a doctor or in a hospital setting, depending on the severity of the symptoms.
  • Milgamma N can cause neurological disorders if used for more than 6 months.
  • Milgamma contains sodium but less than 1 mmol (23mg) of sodium per dose (2ml).
  • Milgamma N is not indicated for use in children under 12 years old.
  • Milgamma N has no special recommendations for the elderly.
  • Avoid administering vitamin B6 doses exceeding 25mg per day in pregnant or breastfeeding women. Since Milgamma N contains 100mg/2ml ampoule, it should not be used in this group.

5. Drug Interactions with Milgamma N

Some drug interactions with Milgamma N to note:

  • Thiamine is completely degraded by solutions containing sulfite.
  • Other vitamins may be inactivated in the presence of vitamin B1 degradation products.
  • Vitamin B6 dosage may reduce the effectiveness of L-dopa.
  • The medication interacts with INH, cycloserine, and D-penicillamine.
  • Milgamma N should be stored at 2°C to 8°C in a refrigerator, protected from excessive heat and direct light.
