2.1 Effects of Pregnyl 5000 IU

Pregnyl 5000 with the main ingredient Chorionic gonadotropin is a gonadotropic hormone derived from the placenta and has the following effects:

  • Treatment of polycystic ovaries, anovulation or cluster ovulation, making it difficult for women to conceive. In other words, the drug helps stimulate ovulation.
  • The drug is indicated for infertile women who are undergoing IUI/IVF artificial insemination methods.
  • For men, Pregnyl is used to treat hypogonadism when the testicles do not secrete sex hormones, delaying puberty.

3. Dosage and correct use of Pregnyl 5000 IU

3.1 Dosage of Pregnyl 5000 IU

Women:

  • Stimulate ovulation: 5,000 - 10,000 IU. After treatment with other obstetric drugs, you can repeat 2-3 times from 1,000 - 3,000 IU and maintain this dose for 9 days to support the corpus luteum.
  • Patients undergoing IVF treatment: 5,000 - 10,000 IU, injected 30 - 40 hours after the last dose of other obstetric support.

Men:

  • Infertility treatment: 1000 - 2000 IU injected 2 - 3 times/week combined with Puregon 150IU x 3 times/week and used for at least 3 months.
  • Treatment of hypogonadism: 1000 - 2000 IU intramuscularly injected 2-3 times/week.
  • Treatment of delayed puberty with concomitant pituitary dysfunction: 1500IU 2 - 3 times/week, used for at least 6 months.
  • Treatment of cryptorchidism: 2 times/week maintained for 6 weeks. It can then be repeated after 2 - 3 months from the last injection. For each age group, there will be a prescribed dosage: Children < 2 years old: 250 IU; Children from 2 - < 6 years old: 500 - 1000 IU; Children from 6 years old and above: 1500 IU

3.2 How to use Pregnyl 5000 IU
