Uses of Ase Victoria

Ase Victoria is a tablet containing the active ingredient Levonorgestrel, designed for use as an emergency contraceptive.

1. Uses of Ase Victoria

What is Ase Victoria?
Each Ase Victoria tablet contains 1.5 mg of Levonorgestrel, along with excipients. Levonorgestrel is a progestogen that inhibits ovulation. With endometrium, it transforms the endometrial lining from an estrogen-driven proliferative phase to a secretory phase. Its contraceptive effects include altering cervical mucus to create a barrier against sperm movement. Therefore, it prevents egg implantation through changes in the endometrial structure.

Ase Victoria is indicated for emergency contraception after unprotected intercourse or contraceptive failure.
There are some contraindications of using Ase Victoria:

Allergy to any component of the medication.
Suspected or confirmed pregnancy, unexplained abnormal vaginal bleeding, thrombophlebitis (vein inflammation clotting) or active thromboembolic diseases (blood clotting diseases), acute liver disease or liver tumors (benign or malignant), individuals with history of breast, ovarian, or uterine cancer, persistent jaundice or itching during a previous pregnancy, etc.

2. How to use and dosage of Ase Victoria

2.1 Dosage and administration

Ase Victoria is taken orally. Take the tablet within 72 hours of unprotected intercourse, preferably as soon as possible (ideally within 48 hours). If vomiting occurs within 2 hours of ingestion, take another pill immediately.
