The presence of blood or pus in the stool along with fever may indicate a bacterial infection or other serious conditions, and the underlying cause must be treated. Therefore, Racecadotril may be used alongside antibiotics in cases of bacterial acute diarrhea as an adjunctive treatment. - There is no data available on the effects of Hidrasec in patients with liver or kidney disease, so caution should be exercised in these patients.
- Hidrasec may also reduce bioavailability in patients with prolonged vomiting.
- Angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors (such as captopril, enalapril, lisinopril) may increase the risk of angioedema when used with Racecadotril.
- Loperamide and nifuroxazide do not alter the activity of Racecadotril in the body when used together.
