Therapeutic uses of Nolpaza 40mg

Nolpaza 40mg contains Pantoprazole, a main active ingredient. It is a prescription medication, a group of antacids, anti-reflux, and anti-ulcer drugs. 1. Indications of Nolpaza 40mg

Nolpaza 40mg is indicated for the treatment of:

  • Individuals with gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD).
  • Individuals with peptic ulcers.
  • Prevention of ulcers caused by nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs).
  • Treatment of Zollinger-Ellison syndrome.

2. Contraindications of Nolpaza 40 mg

Contraindications for using Nolpaza 40mg:

  • Individuals who are hypersensitive to Pantoprazole or any other ingredients in Nolpaza 40mg.

3. Dosage and usage of Nolpaza 40mg

Usage: Nolpaza 40mg is taken by mouth, once in the morning. Patients should swallow the whole Nolpaza 40mg tablet. Breaking, chewing, or crushing the Nolpaza 40mg tablet may increase the side effects.

Dosage: 

  • For adults with gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD): Take 20 – 40 mg once daily.
  • Use the medication for 4 weeks or up to a maximum of 8 weeks. In case of recurrence, take a dose of 20mg daily.
  • For peptic ulcers: The usual dosage of Nolpaza 40mg is 40 mg once daily. If you have a duodenal ulcer, treatment should be for 2–4 weeks. For benign gastric ulcers, use for 4–8 weeks.
  • For prevention of ulcers caused by nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs): Take 20mg daily.
  • For treatment of Zollinger-Ellison syndrome: Start with an initial dose of 80mg daily. If taking 80mg per day, divide the dosage into two doses.

Note: Individuals with liver or kidney failure should consult a doctor for an appropriate dosage.
How to handle missed or overdosed doses of Nolpaza 40mg:

  • In case of a forgotten dose of Nolpaza 40mg, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is close to the time for the next dose, skip the missed Nolpaza 40mg dose and take the next one.
  • If an overdose of Nolpaza 40mg occurs, the patient should stop taking the medication immediately and go to the nearest medical facility for timely treatment.

4. Side effects of Nolpaza 40mg

When using Nolpaza 40mg, patients may experience the following side effects:

  • Fatigue;
  • Headache;
  • Rash;
  • Hives;
  • Muscle pain;
  • Joint pain;
  • Weakness;
  • Lightheadedness;
  • Dizziness;
  • Itching;
  • Elevated liver enzymes.

If you experience any of these symptoms, you should stop using Nolpaza 40mg and inform your doctor or pharmacist for appropriate management.

5. Interactions of Nolpaza 40mg

Nolpaza 40mg may have drug interactions when combined with:

  • Drugs with pH-dependent absorption in the stomach, such as Ampicillin ester,
  • Ketoconazole, and iron salts;
  • Pantoprazole;
  • Warfarin;
  • Sucralfate.

6. Precautions when using Nolpaza 40mg

  • Be cautious when using Nolpaza 40mg for individuals who drive or operate machinery.
  • Be cautious when using Nolpaza 40mg for individuals with liver or kidney impairment.
  • Be cautious when using Nolpaza 40mg for pregnant or breastfeeding women.
  • Absolutely do not use Nolpaza 40mg if it shows signs of discoloration, mold, water damage, or if it has expired.
