Bupivacaine is also used in dentistry and may also be used for other purposes.
In addition, some other effects of the drug are not listed on the approved drug label, but in some cases the doctor may prescribe the use of Bupivacaine.

Bupivacaine is prepared as a sterile colorless solution and has the following forms:
Bupivacaine hydro chloride, USP 0.25% (2.5 mg/mL): 10ml, 30ml Bupivacaine hydro chloride, USP 0.5 % (5 mg/mL): 10ml, 30ml Bupivacaine hydro chloride, USP 0.75% (7.5 mg/mL): 10ml, 30ml Bupivacaine is injected directly into or near the area to be anesthetized. For an epidural you will be given an injection of bupivacaine into the middle or lower back spine.
The dose used will depend on the age and the purpose of anesthesia in each type of procedure such as:
For adults: The usual adult dose for local anesthesia can be up to 175mg, sometimes more more or less depending on the patient. Dosage may be repeated every 3 hours. The maximum dose is 400mg/24 hours. Usual adult dose for anesthesia during cesarean section: inject Bupivacaine in dextrose solution for spinal anesthesia with a dose of 7.5-10.5mg corresponding to 1-1.4ml. For children: Usual pediatric dose for local anesthesia: epidural dose is 1.25mg/kg/dose, sacral anesthesia 1-3,7mg/kg. The infusion dose in infants 4 months of age and younger is 0.2-0.25 mg/kg/hour. Infants older than 4 months and children 0.4-0.5mg/kg/hour. Injection of Bupivacaine in dextrose solution should not be used in patients under 18 years of age.

When using Bupivacaine, it is still possible to have unwanted effects. Therefore, when unusual symptoms appear, especially when a severe allergic reaction occurs with accompanying signs such as severe dizziness, difficulty breathing, rash, rash, swelling of the face, tongue or throat, ... the patient should immediately notify the doctor or nurse for immediate medical intervention.

Some epidural anesthetics can have long-term or permanent effects on some body processes such as function. genitalia, movement or sensation in the legs or feet, bowel or bladder control. Do not use more drug than the treatment regimen. Bupivacaine overdose or ingestion can cause serious symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, shortness of breath, fainting, etc.
