Intestinal malrotation is an abnormality caused by incomplete rotation and fixation of the intestine, occurring during fetal development. Intestinal malrotation is a relatively rare malformation of the digestive tract. Clinically, it usually manifests in newborns and young children, but it can also be asymptomatic until intestinal volvulus occurs.
