If first aid for a venomous snake bite is not given properly, the victim is at risk of necrosis, sepsis, or even death. Immobilizing the bitten limb by bandaging it can delay the onset of symptoms of poisoning, especially paralysis, and may be enough to help the patient reach the nearest medical facility safely.
