Tumors and lesions around the eye socket are common
The structure of the eye socket is a pyramid-shaped bone cavity, the top facing backwards, the bottom extending forwards due to the structure of the skull and facial bones. Due to the special protection of the sensitive eye, the soft tissues of the eye socket do not directly press against the periosteum but are covered by fascia. Therefore, in general, orbital lesions or tumors often develop inside or outside the fascia.
