Acute tamponade pericardial effusion is a serious medical condition in which blood or fluid fills the space between the sac that covers the heart and the heart muscle, creating extreme pressure on the heart. The heart can't pump enough blood to the rest of the body and can lead to organ failure, shock or even death.
