Intussusception is a serious surgical disease, almost exclusively found in children, especially children under 2 years old. Children who are too young and unable to talk are the most difficult in diagnosing and treating the disease.

Intussusception is the leading cause of intestinal obstruction in children. This occurs when the upper part of the intestine moves into the lower part of the intestine (or vice versa), blocking the flow of the intestine.
