Vinmec Tissue Bank (VTB)
Established in October 2019 based on the umbilical Cord Blood Bank (operating since March 2014). VTB is a non-profit multi-tissue bank embedded Vinmec Healthcare System. Licensed by the Ministry of Health on February 26, 2020, VTB is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities to receive, process, preserve, store, and transport tissue and cell samples.
VTB collaborates with domestic and international organizations for tissue and cell exchange, supporting medical treatment, training, and research in biomedicine, regenerative medicine, and precision medicine. VTB aims to meet global standards with core values of "Creativity, Accountability, Reliability, and Excellence."
Unit of Genetic Medicine (UGM)
Is one of the three departments of Vinmec HiTech Center. UGM specializes in innovative products and services for disease prevention, diagnosis, monitoring, screening, and treatment. Committed to providing top-tier genetic testing services, UGM supports clinicians and benefits patients, laying a robust foundation for precision medicine. UGM features world-class genetic laboratories certified by ISO 15189:2012 by BoA Vietnam to ensure high quality service and accurate test results.
Department of Cell Manufacturing
Research and Application:
- Apply cutting-edge techniques to develop high quality services to make a difference between Vinmec and other major centers in the country.

Department of QC and Quality standards
Vinmec Hi-tech Center was composed of Quality Control laboratory and Quality Management unit.
Quality Control laboratory has a duty to establish a quality control system for cell therapy products at Hi-Tech Center according to international standards for cell therapy such as AABB, ISCT.
Department of QC and Quality standards has been accredited to ISO 15189:2012 for many specialized tests. In particular, we are the first organization to be accredited to ISO 15189:2012 for hematopoietic stem cell enumeration test and T, B, and NK enumeration test using flow cytometry technique. In addition to complying with ISO 15189:2012 standards, our department also participates in many external quality control and inter-laboratory comparison programs to improve quality and technical capacity.
Quality Management unit played role in establishment and coordination with other departments to implement a general quality management system for faculties of Hi-tech Center in compliance with Vinmec Healthcare system standards, referred from JCI standards, with the following main tasks (1) Incident and risk management, (2) Customer satisfaction surveys and complaint handling, (3) Monitoring and improving key quality indicators. In addition, together with other faculties and departments, the quality management department also develops and implements specific quality standards such as AABB and ISO.
Vinmec Tissue Bank (VTB)
Receive, process, preserve and store tissue and cell samples;
Supplying tissues and cells to medical facilities, medical research and training facilities;
Supply and exchange of tissues and cells with other tissue banks;
Cooperate with domestic and foreign organizations and individuals in tissue and cell exchange; for the purpose of medical examination, treatment, training, and research in the fields of Biomedicine, Regenerative Medicine, Personalized Medicine/Precision Medicine.

Apply NGS technology in preimplantation screening/diagnosis and assisted reproduction
Apply NGS technology in noninvasive diagnosis/screening (prenatal diagnosis/screening, oncology, health scan)

Improve quality of service using goldstandard molecular technologies (PCR, realtime PCR, microarray, Sanger sequencing, Immunohistology Imaging) for diagnosis and prognosis

- Isolating and expansion of stem cells from umbilical cord, bone marrow, adipose tissue and dental pulp for cryopreservation and disease treatments
- Processing apheresis product and bone marrow harvest for haematopoietic stem cell transplantation
- Manufacturing therapeutic exosomes from adipose-derived and umbilical cord-derived stem cells for cosmetic dermatology (skin rejuvenation treatments, hair growth, wound healing, …)
- Autologous immune enhancement therapy (NK and T cells) boosting immunity supports solid cancer treatments (lung cancer, breast cancer, colon cancer, …)
Department of QC and Quality standards,
Quality Control laboratory focused on setting up examining to determined the safety and particular properties of cell lines:
- Safety evaluation: mycoplasma detection and endotoxin quantitative
- purity, cell count, cell viability test
- Immuno - phenotyping analyze of immune cells (lymphocytes, T, B, and NK) and stem cell (HSC, MSC) lines
- Immune and cytokines – profiling
- Potency assay like cytokines, CFU test
- Cytokine/ growth factors quantitative
- lymphocyte transformation and basophil activation test for drug allergy diagnose
Vinmec Tissue Bank (VTB)
VTB meets international standards, with clean rooms monitored and colntrolled for pressure, humidity, and temperature. Samples are stored in specialized, modern, safe and secure ultralow storage systems using clinical-grade nitrogen. The monitoring systems provide real-time alerts for any irregularities, and access is restricted to authorized personnel.
