3. How to use Marvelon Marvelon

21-tablet pack: Take 1 tablet every day for 21 consecutive days, then take a 7-day break and start a new pack on the 8th day. Patients will typically have bleeding (menstruation) during the break.
Starting to use Marvelon differs for various individuals:
For women who have not used any hormonal contraceptive methods in the previous month: Each pack of Marvelon will have the days of the week printed on it, with continuous arrows. You should take the first Marvelon tablet on the first day of your menstrual cycle or the first Sunday after menstruation and take the tablet at a specific time each day, with some water if needed to avoid interrupting the pill-taking process.
For women who have used a combination hormonal contraceptive: Take the first Marvelon tablet right after stopping the previous contraceptive method or no later than the planned time for the next dose of the old contraceptive. During the break from the previous contraceptive, bleeding (menstruation) may occur, typically 2-3 days later, but the flow will be lighter than the normal menstrual cycle.
For women switching from progestin-only contraceptives (implant, pill, injection) or a progestogen-releasing intrauterine device (IUD): You can start Marvelon on any day when switching from the pill, but if switching from an implant or IUD, take it from the day the implant is removed or the IUD is taken out; if switching from an injection, start the pill on the day of the next required injection. However, for the first 7 days of Marvelon use, you must use an additional barrier method.
For women who have had a miscarriage in the first trimester: Start taking Marvelon immediately without needing any other contraceptive method.
For women after childbirth or miscarriage in the second trimester: Start taking the pill between 21-28 days after childbirth or miscarriage in the second trimester.
In cases of gastrointestinal abnormalities, drug absorption may not be complete, reducing effectiveness, so you should use an additional contraceptive method.
