1. What is the effect of Diprosalic medication?

Diprosalic medication contains two main active ingredients: Betamethasone dipropionate and Salicylic Acid. In addition to these two active ingredients, the medication includes excipients such as White petrolatum, Mineral oil, etc.
Each active ingredient has different functions. When combined, they create the therapeutic effect of Diprosalic, which reduces the inflammatory manifestations of skin diseases with hyperkeratosis and dryness that respond to corticosteroids. Specifically:

Salicylic acid is known as a keratolytic agent, antimicrobial, and antifungal.
Betamethasone dipropionate is a corticosteroid with anti-inflammatory, anti-itch, and vasoconstrictive effects.

Diprosalic is indicated in the following cases:

  • Psoriasis
  • Chronic allergic dermatitis
  • Neurodermatitis
  • Eczema (including nummular eczema, hand eczema, and eczema-like dermatitis)
  • Dyshidrotic eczema
  • Seborrheic dermatitis of the scalp
  • Ichthyosis vulgaris and other forms of ichthyosis.

  • Patients allergic to any component of the medication

2. Dosage and method of using Diprosalic medication

Here are the instructions for using Diprosalic:

  • Before applying, the patient should wash their hands and the affected skin area thoroughly and dry it.
  • Open the bottle and take an appropriate amount of cream. Apply a thin layer of medication to the affected skin and spread evenly. Apply gently, without excessive rubbing that could damage the skin.
  • The patient should apply the medication twice daily, in the morning and evening.
  • Note that some patients may achieve adequate maintenance therapy with fewer applications.

Cases of overdose of Diprosalic have been reported. Symptoms of overdose may include one or more of the following: suppression of the pituitary-adrenal function, secondary adrenal insufficiency, Cushing's disease, etc. To address this, the patient should be examined by a doctor. Usually, the patient will receive treatment for the corresponding symptoms or electrolyte imbalances if needed.
If a dose is missed, the patient should apply the medication as soon as they remember. If the missed dose is close to the next dose, skip the missed dose and follow the prescribed schedule. Do not apply double doses to make up for the missed dose.
