2. Uses of Astymin Liquid
2.1 Indications
Astymin Liquid is indicated for the following cases:
- Nutritional supplementation for children during growth periods.
- A source of nutrition, health recovery, and fatigue prevention for all ages.
- Patients during illness or convalescence, and in cases of body weakness.
- Individuals suffering from fever, post-surgery, and injuries.
2.2 Pharmacodynamics
In the digestive system, lipids and carbohydrates are energy sources, while proteins, including amino acids, are essential for tissue formation. Supplementing certain essential amino acids along with vitamins and minerals helps regenerate the body's amino acids, improving nutritional status and reducing the risk of infection, while helping the patient effectively cope with psychological stress.
The components in Astymin Liquid have the following functions:
- Vitamin A: Supports growth and function of the skin, mucous membranes, and night vision.
- Vitamin B: Required for carbohydrate metabolism, central nervous system function, and nerve health. It aids energy metabolism in the skin and vision. Vitamin B is crucial in protein metabolism and central nervous system function.
- Vitamin C: Important for connective tissue, iron absorption, and speeding up recovery from certain infections.
- Niacinamide, Calcium Pantothenate: Participate in energy metabolism.
- Folic acid: Regulates cell growth, including red blood cells.
- Vitamin D: Helps regulate calcium absorption for bones and teeth.
- Vitamin E: Protects cell structures and lipids from oxidative damage.
The combination of amino acids with vitamins in the formulation makes Astymin Liquid a versatile medication in treatment, as well as an excellent nutritional supplement for daily life.
2.3 Pharmacokinetics
After taking Astymin Liquid, amino acids are absorbed from the intestine directly into the bloodstream, and then freely circulate throughout the body. These amino acids remain in a dynamic equilibrium between extracellular fluids and cells.
Cells and tissues use amino acids as needed. These amino acids can bond together in various forms to form proteins in the body. The concentration of amino acids in plasma and excretion in urine has been studied in healthy adults by intravenous infusion of 500 and 1000 ml of a solution containing 8 amino acids combined with alanine, aspartic acid, histidine, arginine, proline, serine, aminoacetic acid, and tyrosine. The total amino acid concentration in plasma peaks at the completion of the infusion, then rapidly declines and returns to baseline after 24 hours.
Plasma amino acids reflect those present in the infused solution. The increase in urine output and the rise in amino acids in urine (threonine, serine, glycine, histidine, and leucine) correlate with the infusion volume.
Most vitamins are absorbed directly through the digestive tract, with some metabolized and distributed to cells. Some metabolites are excreted through urine and feces.
