Question
Hello Doctor,
I’ve taken a pregnancy test early in the morning for three consecutive days, and each time, the result shows one dark line and one faint line. Could you please tell me whether I am pregnant? Recently, I’ve been experiencing mild lower abdominal pain. I had a C-section 8 years ago and have a daughter. I look forward to your advice. Thank you, Doctor.

Hello,
Regarding your question, “If the pregnancy test shows one dark line and one faint line, am I pregnant?”, here is my response:
If your period is late, and your pregnancy test shows one faint line and one dark line, or both lines are dark, it is likely that you are pregnant. After a missed period of 7-10 days, you can visit a healthcare provider to confirm whether the pregnancy is developing inside the uterus.
However, if you experience abdominal pain or vaginal bleeding, you should immediately schedule an appointment with an obstetrician-gynecologist to assess your condition and rule out abnormal pregnancies (such as ectopic pregnancy or miscarriage risk).
If you have further questions about a test showing one dark line and one faint line, you may visit a Vinmec Health System hospital for an examination and additional consultation. Thank you for trusting and sending your question to Vinmec. Wishing you good health.
Sincerely,
