Dosages depend on the patient and condition:
- For worm infections: Deworming is generally done after children reach 2 years old. For children under 2, consult a doctor for advice.
- Children over 2 years and adults typically take a single dose of 400 mg. If results are unsatisfactory, a second dose may be given after 3 weeks.
- For children under 2, the dosage is halved to 200 mg.
- For larvae on the skin: Adults take a single dose of 400 mg. Children should take a dose based on weight (5 mg/kg daily) for 3 days.
- For hydatid cysts:
Children over 6 years old are treated for 28 days with a daily dose of 10–15 mg/kg. Treatment may be repeated if symptoms recur. - Adults take 800 mg/day divided into two doses for 28 days. Treatment may be repeated up to 5 cycles if needed.
- For hydatid cysts:
- For brain cysticercosis (pork tapeworm in the brain): The dose is calculated at 15 mg/kg daily for 30 days. If symptoms reappear after 3 weeks, consult a doctor.
- For other types of tapeworms:
- Children under 2 years take 200 mg daily for 3 consecutive days.
- Children over 2 years and adults follow the same regimen, with the dose increased to 400 mg. Treatment may be repeated after 3 weeks if necessary.
