We often use the common menstrual cycle of 28 days to calculate. Accordingly, the time of ovulation will fall on day 14 - counted down from the first day of the next period. 2. How to calculate ovulation date accurately when menstruation is irregular
The first day of menstruation is counted as the first day of bleeding. Before that, if there were a few drops of blood, that day can be ignored and not counted. Many women still mistakenly think that the day of menstruation is the first day of a new period, leading to errors in calculating ovulation date.
2.1. For women with a menstrual cycle of up to 32 days
If the 32-day cycle is fixed, the ovulation time for conception will also be fixed accordingly. For menstrual cycles of more than 28 days, the speculative formula can be applied. That is, for every day longer, the fertile day will be added by one day. On the contrary, for women with a menstrual cycle shorter than 28 days, the fertile day will be subtracted by 1. For an easier example, if the menstrual cycle is 32 days, the fertile time will be on day 15 = 11 + 4 to day 20 = 16 + 4, and the ovulation day can fall on day 18 = 14 + 4 of the cycle.
2.2. For women with a menstrual cycle of 26 - 30 days
For a menstrual cycle of 26-30 days, women must calculate 2 fertile periods. One is the shortest cycle, two is the longest cycle, then combine these two cycles together. Accordingly, with a 26-day cycle, the time of easy conception falls on the 9th to the 14th day of the cycle. With a 30-day cycle, the conception period falls on the 13th to the 18th day of the cycle. Combining these two cycles, your conception time is on the 9th to the 18th day and ovulation will fall on the 12th to 16th day of the cycle.
If the cycle is completely irregular, often disrupted, it is impossible to predict the ovulation day. Women with irregular menstrual cycles need to go to the doctor to check the cause of not ovulating first and have measures to regulate menstruation.
3. How to have sex to get pregnant easily?
3.1 Frequency
The advice for couples to increase the chance of conception is to have sex with a reasonable frequency of 2 times/week or 3 times/week. Note that having sex every day does not increase the chance of conception. This also has the opposite effect of reducing sperm count, making the body tired. The time to get pregnant easily with a 28-day cycle is around 13 to 15 days, so during this period you need to have sex 1-2 times to increase the chance of conception.
