Imbruvica is a cancer treatment drug prescribed and prescribed by an oncologist. In order for the medicine to be effective, the patient must take the medicine exactly as directed by the doctor or pharmacist.

1. What are the effects of Imbruvica?

Imbruvica (ibrutinib) is a cancer medicine. The drug works by killing and reducing the number of cancer cells in the body.
Imbruvica is indicated in the following cases:
Monotherapy: adult patients with relapsed/refractory mantle cell lymphoma (MCL), untreated chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) , hypermacroglobulinemia (WM) with at least one prior or first-line therapy in patients not suitable for immunotherapy. Bendamustine & rituximab monotherapy/combination: adult patients with chronic lymphocytic leukemia who have received at least one prior therapy

2. How to use Imbruvica?

Treatment with Imbruvica is conducted and supervised by an Oncologist.
Recommended dose: 3 - 4 tablets once daily depending on indications. Dosage may be adjusted based on individual patient safety and tolerability.

3. Unwanted effects when taking Imbruvica

The most common adverse reactions when using the drug include: fever, chills, body aches, fatigue, cold and flu symptoms, shortness of breath, gastrointestinal disturbances (diarrhea, constipation, nausea, vomiting) blisters or mouth ulcers; tired; bruising, skin rash, muscle pain, bone pain, swelling of hands, feet or ankles, dizziness, headache, increased blood pressure ....
Patients should inform their doctor if they experience any any unusual symptoms during the use of the drug.

4. Notes when taking Imbruvica

Patients need to take the pill with 1 glass of water, at the same time of day. Accordingly, it is necessary to swallow the tablet whole, do not chew, crush or open the tablet before swallowing. If the patient misses a dose, take the missed dose as soon as it is remembered for the day. The next dose is taken the next day at the usual dosing schedule. Do not take a double dose to make up for the missed dose. Do not take Imbruvica with grapefruit juice or bitter orange juice because it may increase unwanted effects of the drug. In addition, to ensure safety and avoid side effects, patients should consult their doctor or pharmacist when using Imbruvica with any other medicine.
