Is epigastric pain accompanied by shortness of breath a sign of gastroesophageal reflux disease?

Ask
Hello doctor. Currently, I have chest and back pain, difficulty breathing, chest tightness, pain or salivation in the epigastrium. Throat is itchy and coughs with mucus. May I ask if I have acid reflux and do I need an endoscopy? Thanks for the advice doctor.

Hello brother/sister! Your medical condition, it is likely that you have reflux esophagitis, which may be accompanied by pharyngitis. You should register for an examination at the internal gastrointestinal or gastrointestinal, ENT, ear, nose and throat clinic of Vinmec Health System so that the doctor can examine it more closely and give appropriate tests. The most important is esophagoscopy of the stomach and duodenum.
You should pay attention, when going to the doctor's office, you need to fast for at least 8 hours! Thank you for trusting and sharing your concerns with Vinmec. We look forward to meeting with you to discuss in more detail about your current health status. Best regards.
