Sunscreens today often include an SPF index indicating the level of skin protection from the harmful effects of UVB rays. The lowest SPF index is 15 and the highest is 100, the indexes are equivalent to the time of sun protection.

Skin color does not determine the SPF index, so whether we have dark or fair skin, we still need sunscreen to prevent cancer, skin darkening and aging. Sunscreen protects the skin from the effects of ultraviolet rays.
