Streptomycin is an aminoglycoside antibiotic indicated for the treatment of multidrug-resistant mycobacterium tuberculosis and other non-tuberculosis infections. Although the drug Streptomycin was the first antibiotic available to treat mycobacterium tuberculosis, it is now mostly second choice due to resistance and toxicity.
