Staphylococcal peeling syndrome: What you need to know
Staphylococcal scalded skin syndrome (SSSS) is an acute epidermolysis caused by infection with exotoxin-producing strains of staphylococci. Symptoms include widespread blistering and desquamation of the epidermis. The disease is most common in infants and children under 6 years of age, but can also occur in older children and adults with severe disease.
