Signs of dehydration in children
Every day, our bodies lose water through sweat, tears, urination or bowel movements. Water can be lost through evaporation through the skin or breathing. We usually replace this water and salt through our diet. Children can lose more water and salt when they have a fever, diarrhea, vomiting, or exercise for a long time or have difficulty drinking water. If a child does not replace the lost water, signs of dehydration may appear.
