How is neonatal infection treated?
Neonatal infection is a term used to describe infectious conditions that occur in the neonatal period, with pathogens acquired before, during, or after birth. Early neonatal infection is an infection that occurs within the first 3 days after birth (≤ 72 hours). This is a disease that causes high mortality (after acute respiratory distress syndrome in newborns). The incidence is 6/1000 live births (US), 3-4 times higher in developing countries.
