Cranial defect patch surgery in traumatic brain injury
Traumatic brain injury is a condition of damage to the skull bone in the brain after a strong enough impact to the head. In many cases, patients with traumatic brain injury have had surgery but cannot save the skull bone or have to remove the skull bone. After a period of time, when the patient is stable, surgery will be indicated to reattach the patient's skull bone or graft the skull defect with artificial material.
